       Candidates for the Indoor Environmental Certified Inspector (IECI) must have at least 2 years experience in HVAC work, home inspection, or IAQ/mold service, or are certified by the IIAQC as IAQCPs or MICPs (or have acceptable, equivalent certification). Must attend a 2 day training course conducted by the National Indoor Environmental Training Center. Course concentrates on all aspects of indoor environmental assessment, inspection, testing, and advisement. The course fully prepares those wanting to enter the field of indoor environemntal services. Check this site often for course dates and locations.

The International Indoor Air Quality Commission offers training materials for advanced certification levels that meet the increased knowledge demands of those involved in indoor environmental fields. The advanced level certifications have previous certification level and experieince requiremenrts and are available on-line or through the National Indoor Environmental Training Center.

  The Indoor Environmental Certified Consultant (IECC) is for those indoor air quality professionals who have passed the IAQCP examination (basic IAQ) and MICP (mold inspection) examinations and want to continue to the next level. Study materials for this level include greater examination of indoor contaminants, basics of indoor environmental testing, and additional focus on ventilation and HVAC systems and air cleaning technologies.
Credentials from other certification organizations will be evaluated and may be eligible for advanced certification.

  The highest certification level is the Indoor Environmental Master Consultant (IEMC). For this level, a candidate must have an IECC certificate, and the study materials will include a more in-depth examination of testing, ventilation and HVAC, and abatement and remediation strategies. Registrants must also attend an EMSL Laboratory IAQ and Industrial Hygiene Workshop in their area.
Credentials from other certification organizations will be evaluated and may be eligible for advanced certification.
