Because of the
importance IAQ knowledge plays in the representation of
IAQ services and products, it is essential that those
involved in these areas have a current certification from
an IAQ certifying organization/agency that validates
professional skills and knowledge. It is important to
measure the skills of an IAQ professional not only to
improve the overall quality of the profession but to
confirm they possess an adequate level of knowledge to be
beneficial in IAQ assessment and advisement.
The I.I.A.Q.C.
provides certification for those wanting professional
credentials in basic indoor air quality assessment and
consultation. Gaining credentials as an Indoor Air Quality
Certified Professional (IAQCP) is based on experience in
related fields and demonstration of IAQ knowledge through
passage of a comprehensive written examination. |

Becoming certified as an IAQCP by the International Indoor Air
tional Indoor Air Quality Commission
requires a minimum of six months
experience in a field relevant to indoor air quality and
demonstration of knowledge of basic indoor air quality through
passage of the examination. This certification is ideal for
those wanting to add a professional IAQ designation to their
credentials. This certification level is not for those seeking
accreditation as an IAQ manager or investigator, microbial
consultant or investigator, claims adjuster, or for IAQ
matters relating to asbestos, lead, or mold remediation.

"There are a lot of people
out there offering indoor
air quality services, and even more selling air
purifiers
and other IAQ products.
Many don't know what
they
are talking about. The
IIAQC allows me to offer
proof to my customer that I
do know what I am talking
about. It has enhanced my
reputation and acceptance.
Becoming certified is one of
the best professional
things
I have done.
