A. That is totally dependent on you. You may take the certification examination as soon as the I.I.A.Q.C. receives your application, processes your fees, sends the E-Study Guide, and provides you with the access code to the Exam-on-Demand site. You may take the exam as soon as you get the codes if you like. Our suggestion, however, is to review the E-Study Guide first to assure a positive result on the examination.
A. If you have been involved in the IAQ or mold field for a while, your experience, training, self-study, etc. may have provided you with a knowledge base sufficient to pass the examination. However, the IAQCP or MICP E-Study Guide you receive will be a helpful review or provide the core knowledge needed for examination passage.
A. You may take the examination again after 30 days.

The I.I.A.Q.C.'s E-Newsletter provides a short, 1-page review of important IAQ issues.

        A. If certification is offered in any professional field, it only makes
good sense to obtain it. Simply put, it provides credibility as to your
knowledge and experience. That is certainly of value to clients,
        customers, and co-workers.
TA. There are a few organizations that provide certification to those involved in the IAQ field. These are excellent organizations but certify to a higher level and therefore require a higher level of training, experience, and knowledge for certification than the I.I.A.Q.C. For those that seek certification for more complex IAQ issues, we recommend any of these organizations for that purpose. The I.I.A.Q.C. provides a convenient certification process for those wanting professional credentials in basic indoor air quality assessment and consultation. This level of certification is designed for all those involved in basic IAQ assessment, investigation and advisement in residential and small commercial environments. This certification level is not for those seeking accreditation as an IAQ manager or investigator, microbial consultant or investigator, claims adjuster, or for IAQ matters relating to asbestos, lead, or mold remediation.

There are also dozens of organization that certify mold inspectors.
The IIAQC differentiates itself by providing complete and very thorough training materials but through the convenience of the internet. And because of its systems and methodology, the certification is provided at the most economical price. The IIAQC is an international organization certifying professionals around the world.
